After about a year off, I am going back to the gym today. I was just wondering what kind of program I should get myself into for the next few weeks? I know I can't just "jump right in" for risk of hurting myself. I was thinking of doing light weights, and trying to do a little bit of everything each day to stretch myself out and get myself ready for weight. Ideas?

I used to work out 4-5 days a week but just lost interest. Now I am under weight, and out of shape. I'm 6'0 and 173lbs. I would like to get back to 185 like I was.

Since your going back to the gym, why not talk to one of the trainers that work there and see what they suggest. You want to go easy in the beginning, just like you said and I'm sure that someone could give you great ideas at your gym. Make sure your eating correctly for the weight gain that you want and also for training, you need the right nurtition to make your work out benefit you! Healthy foods, no processed, lots of protein, veggies, fruits, and of course lots of water while your working out! Once you get back into it and see the results your more like to stay motivated.

It would be a good time to find your strengths and weaknesses. You should only work on one part of the body at a time. For example. Monday work on your chest, Tuesday work on your arms. Wednesday work on your back, Thursday have a day off for your musicals to relax, Friday work on your lower body. This is only an example. You know what you need to work on and you can make a schedule. You have done this before so I hope to think you understand. Please post what your thoughts you would turn out to be using. Can we see what type of schedule you are planning on using? Cheers
