Can anyone help? I usually have 27/28 day cycle. Today is day 26. I have light brown spotting and mild cramping. Could this be implantation bleeding? We have been trying to conceive for 13 months. (we miscarried 2 months ago and my last period was 27 days) HPT negative but if we did conceive it would have been 10 days ago (we use ovulation kits) so perhaps to early to detect. Can anyone throw any light onto this I am so impatient!

There is a possibility that it is implantation bleeding, you can do a search for implantation bleeding and read up on the signs of implantation bleeding. . Although I went to the Dr. with similar symptoms last month and she said "hey if you see blood it's your period" . I think that you should test again if you miss you next month period. If not you can go to the Dr, and they can run some tests to see what's going on with you.
Good luck

Do you chart your Basal Body Temp? That would be an excellent place to begin if you have not conceived this month. If you haven't already, take a look at the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. You can vist the community based on the book, and find tons of help, at ovusoft.com (http://www.ovusoft.com). There is a free trial of the software available last time I checked, or you can also chart on paper.

As for your question, there is such a thing as implantation spotting. I have 3 children and with each child I experienced light brown spotting about a week after my cycle was due to begin, a result I believe of the embryo "burrowing in". Early pregnancy and pre-menses symptoms are very very similar, so the spotting and cramping could be a sign of your cycle beginning or of implantation. Best of luck to you.
