I own a 2 story home and have always had problems with my water pressure. All my neighbors do as well. When I first turn the shower or faucet on the water come sout with a little more pressure but then dwindles to a trickle. I have copper piping and have had all the piping checked by a plumber (I do have on outside tap that has a very small leak (drips ery little, only one drop accumulates every few minutes) Anyway, I was wondering if a booster pump would be a solution, I saw one made by daveys that semed OK but I am womdering if there is a minimum incoming pressure for this system to work. Also I forgot to mention that I do have hard wtaer and have a softener installed. At first I thought it could be the softener so I byspasse dit and still nothing. HELP... can barely shower because the water sometimes doesn't even make it up to the shower head.

Since you mentioned "hard water", do you have your own water pump, or well?
Or, do you have "county" water, supplied by a main water line coming to your house, through a water meter?
If you have a well, it's possible that the "point" or filter located on the very bottom of your pipe going into the ground is clogged up. Hard water can do this.
If you have county water, it's possible that the pressure regulator installed by your water meter has a screen that has become clogged.

It's a community well. The water pressure is low for all the houses and they just built a few more so its even gotten lower. Would a booster pump do the trick?

Yes, a boster pump would work very well... I install PEX plumbing pipe for any house that has a well. You might think of that option.

Sounds like the community well isn't producing enough water to me... :(
