I was with someone for almost 5 years. While we were engaged and looking for houses together, I found him signed up on singles' sites. He looked me in the eye and swore he would never do something like that; I chose to believe him. A month later, I found out that it was actually him and that he had contacted a few women and told them he was single. I tried to make it work for another year and realized I just couldn't trust him.
So then after I broke up with him, he went around telling everyone that I ended our relationship "without any reason." I also learned afterwards that while we were engaged, he also tried to kiss my younger sister; he denies ever doing it. And here's the funny part: his wife believes everything that he tells her! :D
What I just can't seem to figure out in my mind is: why do people need to lie? If you're that bad of a person, then don't bring it up to begin with. But why do you try and turn it around and make me out to be the bad guy?
