First try to peel the paper off the wall, if your lucky it will come off easy leaving the backing and glue on the wall. If the paper won't peel off or is coming off in little pieces try a paper tiger, it will put little holes in the paper. After using the tiger, spray the wall with a wall paper remover (DIF) mixed with warm water. The paper should come off then. Once all that is left on the wall is the backing and glue, spray it with the DIF and warm water some more and let it soak in good. Then use a mud knife to scrap the backing off the wall. Once all of the backing is off the wall, use a sponge to get the remaining glue off the wall.
Good luck, my least favorite task.

I had a bathroom that had wallpaper stuck directly to unfinished sheetrock. Someone told me to try a 1/2 & 1/2 mixture of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray till the paper was soaked in a small area. The paper and glue came right off.

I remove a lot of wall paper in remodel jobs. I have used a lot of DIF made by ZINSSER, the other thing I use personaly is 1/2 warm water and 1/2 bounty or snuggle cloths softener. It is a lot cheaper. I always use the "tiger paw" first as amricca said. If the wall behind the paper was not "sized" it can be a real bugger some times. I would say if you follow the instructions amricca gave you things will work out fine.
