Hi. Our heater would not come on this morning. We tried turning it off and then on again but it did nothing. What could be the problems?

1st, check to make sure you have power, in breaker box of fuse box, then if its gas furnace make sure door or covers are on tight, has filter been changed lately?, is it giving a code,(gas only) if so count the blinks and look on door panel and see what the code is leading you to., more info would be helpful

The filter was changed about 2-3 months ago and usually gives us an indicator light when it needs a new one, as far as any blinking lights, none on the thermostat... I did try turning the fac from auto to on...

Still need more info,is your heater gas or electric?if gas the blinking light will be inside the door of the furnace itself, not the thermostat, counting the blinks is the code that you need to look up, you didn`t say,did you check and make sure there is power (electric ) going to your furnace

We are at work. We can check the power when we get home. It is gas heat. The furnace is in the attic. We will check for blinking lights when we get home too.
