Just lately my four year old son has started bitting punching spitting scratching other children at school now normally he is a very quite boy and shy we have spoke to the school they can't explain why he is doing this and the last week he started being like it at home and swearing calling me and his older sister a anyone got any ideas as I have two younger children and one on the way and I don't want them to pick this behavior up as the three year old is very close to him and he tries to do what the four year old does

Is he copying another child at school that he's become friends with? You said your boy's a quiet lad - if there's another kid at school who's already behaving that way he's going to be dominant if your boy is friends with him, and he might be copying. If possible, you might do better to watch the school playground to see if anything is happening. Sometimes the school don't know, but sometimes they sadly don't want to know and in that eventuality the onus will come back to you. There isn't a chance that he's attention seeking to get attention, is there?
