I am deleting my songs on my I-pod so I am going to start over again. What are your favorite songs? I am into all types; as long as it sounds good. They could be 50 years old or just come out yesterday, what ever floats your boat. The artist and song name would help me a lot.

Are you open to the types of music that might not have any words to them? What types of music are your preferences? I am into a lot of different types of music.

"Closer to Fine" = Indigo Girls
"Jonestown" - Concrete Blonde
"Red, Red Wine" - UB40
Pretty much anything by the Traveling Wilburys
"Must be Luff" - Michelle Shocked
"Hella Good" - No Doubt
"Has Anyone Here Seen My Corpse?" - No idea who does this, but it's a great song
"Tennessee Birdwalk" - No idea who does this one, either
"Canon in D" - Pachebel
"Come On Eileen" - Dexie's Midnight Runners
"Say Goodbye" - Dave Matthews Band
"Just Like You" - Voice of the Beehive

(I really REALLY like music. I have a CD collection that numbers over 1500 full length discs)

At the center of the World - Bright Eyes
Something Vague - Bright Eyes
Fire it up - Modest Mouse
Snow Brigade - Mew
Nine Crimes - Damien Rice
Cannonball - Damien Rice
State of the Union - David Ford

I have thousands more, if you like any of those PM and I'll list more:)

I would be open to types of music that do not have words in them but right now I do not listen to them. Rap and pop is probably my favorite.

There really isn't a top ten for me because I have never heard of most of these songs before. The ones I have heard are:
Stairway to Heaven --Led Zepplin
Every rose has it's thorn--poison
Crazy train—ozzy
Who knew--pink
But, I have to listen to the other ones that were suggested to see if I like those.

Well I don't know about the States, but I'm sure going to pass it on to a lot of people in Canada! Great song Nicki... thanks!

And "Happy"?. I would be stuck to my computer, have to hire a maid and a cook, among other things to try and name all my fave songs, lol I'll see if I can come up with a list of a few. Happy song hunting!

Robbie Williams is pretty big in Australia too niki , I am a big fan as well. I think he basically doesn't release anything in the States because he lives there and enjoys being able to walk down the street without people noticing him.

It is interesting that we are pulled into so many different directions with the incredible variety of music that is out there! I once asked a couple of junior high choirs that I was directing as to how many names of rock groups they could come up with. I think that the list went on for three or four pages...

Just my thoughts an comments at this point. I hope that you don't mind...

Rap and pop is probably my favorite.

These songs are never on the radio but look them up and give them a chance. It's not the regular mainstream cookie cutter rap that's on the radio and TV.

"Still Ray" Raphael Saadiq (I never met a person who didn't like this song)
Anything from Atmosphere (great indie hip hop group from Minnesota)
"Rhymes like Dimes" MF DOOM
"Accordion" Madvillian
"Daylight" Aesop Rock (pretty much anything from him is dope)
Anything from Blackstarr (Mos Def and Talib Kewli)

IF you are tired of the BS Rap that is forced on you by the radio check out this site
You can preview some tracks on there from a lot of different artist.

"Lady in Red" Chris De Burgh
"Vouge" Madonna
"Die another Day" Madonna
"She's like the wind" Lumidee featuring Tony Sunshine
"Hey Mr.DJ" Madonna
"Mysterious ways" U2
"Desert Rose" Sting
"Linger" The Cranberries
"I love you always forever" Donna Lewis
"Hate me" Blue October
"Into the Ocean" Blue October

And so much more. These are mostly girly songs but I hoped it helped some how.
