I do not want plastic parts, having hard time finding something all brass under 250.00 in a bronze for shower tub.. should I just go chrome for less $ and better quality. Or is there a brand that makes an affordable bronze tub/shower kit?

Most of the plumber over at the plumbing site are going to push you toward Moen for ease of maintenance and repair, and chrome for long time appearance. The brass finish tarnishes after a number of years. Parts guaranteed for life, not finish. Don't know about bronze finish.

I agree, we had both delta and moen over the decades with little if any problem with their overall performance. Unfortunitely, knowing today most everything being made in china and engineered to break in most cases, I thought I'd ask being a little warey of what is out there. Brass finish color is out of the question as I have experienced myself it is an inferior finish in the long. I opened a phister box at Lowe's yesterday and did not like seeing plastic sprocket groments and pieces, finished diverter cover looked and felt cheap too... I want to spend a little more for any brand name for a quality diverter shower tub kit. Not hardened plastic pieces but of solid brass interior pieces and was hoping in the oil rubbed bronze finish. Otherwise, as I see it in these hd /lowes stores, the majority of brands have more choices of these featured quality models and for less money in chrome rather bronze finish, noticed all the bronze finish is more expensive. If it were my decision alone, I will focus on long term performance rather the aestetics, Right now thinking first try for something in bronze, than peuter and possibly chrome. I do want the best bang for the buck but stay within a reasonable price range of 200 to 300 bucks.
