I'm 28, not planning on having kids anytime soon, I've been off the pill since August, the first time since I was 15. I kind of wanted to purge my body of artificial hormones for a bit. I'm now thinking of getting the non-hormonal iud implanted. Any input? Advice?

Most often, they want you to already have a child to get an IUD, but that doesn't mean you can't. There are some effects that you may or may not experience, such as pain. Sometimes they even get embedded into you. They are easier to manage if you do not have time or cannot remember to take the pill. Also if you have had any problems with surgery in the past, you'll want to take precautions.

Other than the things mentioned about, it's a good idea, and can prevent a lot of problems!

I have one it is the best thing I have ever did. I have 3 kids 2,3and 4 years old. My doctor said my body needed a break. I got pregnant with the pills but once the doctor told me about this. I did it. I have not gotten pregnant for 2 years know and my body feels better know. I think you would be happy if you got it.
