I work for a health care facility in Pa. I contracted a contagious disease from this job facility and went to my own personal Dr. and my employer contacted him many times trying to get my personal information about this and he refused to tell them anything.I have been badgered degraded and threatened to be fired. What recourse can I take? They know better than to violate the hipaa act . Do I report them? And to Who? Who do I report the contagious disease I contracted from this facility to? I can guess they sure haven't done so.The job knows what I have and are trying to blame it on me and insist I work knowing it is contagious.
Any help ?
