I have a female Great Pyrnese dog and she is 2 years old now. She has always been a little thin, but recently I've noticed she looks very skinny. I took her to the vet and he said she is 30lbs under weight. She is supposed to be 100lbs total for her size because she is a very large dog. The vet checked for all worms and did blood work and couldn't find anything wrong. She is drinking a lot more water lately and I just know something is not right. Has anyone experienced this or know what I could do to help her. Thank you so much for your time.

Didn't the vet recommend a diet to get her back in line weight wise? Sometimes because of their coat you can't recognize the weight loss. Could she be diabetic ?
Sorry lot of questions and sometimes the vets don't do a complete blood work because they are not looking for the obvious. There are canine diabetic sites on google.com that are quite good that you can visit to up date yourself. Could be you could recognize symptoms in her habits, such as drinking a lot for water, urinating excessively which are symptoms. Canine diabetes is very similar to human diabetes in symptoms.
Just thoughts on my part and not a diagnosis. I know from what I have read on this issue that canine diabetes is on the rise.

This may be an obvious question, but will she eat more? If so, I'd try upping the amount you feed. If she doesn't want to eat more, then you may have a bigger issue.

Is she spayed? Uterine infections can be very hard to diagnose, and infections are another problem that cam cause increased thirst and weight loss.
