Driver Downloads and Replacement Driver CDs no longer offered for Win 98 & Win ME

Here is a tutoril on how to install this to XP, there are no drivers specifically for 98
This process should work for you though, if not, it may only be XP and up compatible
HP Deskjet Printers -  Installing the Printer Using the Driver Included In Windows XP  (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bpd09005&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&product=59307&os=228&lang=en)

Hope this helps

Question,

Are you running WIN98 or XP? What operating system was your friend using?

Go the HP's web site and see if you can download the Win98 disc and driver from there, assuming that you are in fact using 98.

This is really surprising -- there are many flavours of drivers

Software & Driver downloads HP Deskjet 710c Printer (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&product=59307&lang=en)

Troubleshooting Software & Driver installation issues HP Deskjet 710c Printer (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?rule=35826&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&product=59307&lang=en)

Just download and install the drivers -- printer should fly!

Well let's see now, there are the manufacturer's "Custom" drivers and there are Microsoft's versions which are watered down versions of the Manufacturers.

Not to mention all the different platforms as well custom written print subsystems.

It can get very interesting to get those spots on a page.
