Hello,

Recently had the water shut off at my home in SC. When I had it turned back on I got water pressure everywhere in the house except for in the upstairs bathroom sink. Also, the tub next to that sink gets plenty of water pressure, but it's heads or tails whether it will be hot enough to take a shower. I speculate that the water company didn't turn the valve in the front yard on hard enough, but through asking friends, they've speculated other possibilities. Somebody please help! I'm tired of brushing my teeth in the tub. Thanks!

Sounds like turning the water service off for a while and then back on caused a little debrie to clog valves. Tell us what kind of tub and sink valves you have, single lever, two handle and brand if you know. A little more details please. No hot, no cold, no water at all.

It is a two handled faucet B&K brand. The house is 6 years old, I'm guessing everything is original. I will say that when the water was shut off I tried for every last drop... might have gotten an air bubble in it? I just rent the place so I could get the land lord to fix it, but she's been good to me so I want to see if I can return the favor. The tub valve is a single twist knob made by Eljer. I get plenty of cold water from it and occasionally a good hot shower, but not always. There is hissing when I turn the knobs and a mild, but limited spatter... not enough to fill a thimble. Thanks!

Sink faucet, remove aerator, that's the thing on the end of the spout that stops the water from splashing. Should be able to remove with you hand if you have a good grip. If not able to remove with hand, wrap with several turns of tape (to prevent scratching), then use pliers to remove. Try water, clean aerator, pay attention to how parts are put in so you can put back togeather same way.

Someone more familer with Elger will tell you how to remove and clean tub valve.

Hey HK... sorry no experience with eljer faucets. I looked up stuff online and at website and still found nothing.

Eljer, Inc. (http://www.eljer.com)

CSC... want you to go to site and click on contact us and you will seed a toll free number... then call them and see if they can send you some literature to remove the cartridge assembly (I called but they had too many questions about your valve that I could not answer). Then request the literature to be sent to you and see what happens. Let us know how it works out.

Otherwise, wait until someone else pops in... maybe they have worked on eljer's shower valves before.

OH! And eljer no longer makes shower valves and faucets... why I could not find any working links to repair parts... all discontinued!!

Good luck! If this answer helped please RATE THIS ANSWER. Thank you.

What a bummer. It shouldn't be too difficult SC. Should be something like remove the knob then pull out the cartridge. We just don't know how the cartridge is held in. You might remove the knob and take a close up pic. Maybe some will come along.
