Can the Florida family court garnish my bank account in another country?

You need to input more information to get your question answered. The U.S. has treaties with some countries and they will co operate and some won't.

What I really want to know is can an American court order garnishment of a bank account in Mexico for a charge card civil judgment? I mis-spoke about the alimony matter... sorry.

I believe this country has treaties with Mexico and may be able to take money if you owe it. Im not sure on that but your going to need a lawyer to answer that for you

If federal law specifically states that social security income cannot be garnished for civil actions (only alimony) in the U.S. then what difference would a treaty with a sovereign country make? This is a civil judgment, not alimony. I am sorry I was not clear.

I agree, your issue is not clear. If this is a civil judgement, then treaties with Mexico would allow for the attachment of the account. What does the prohibition against garnishing Social Security have to do wth this?

Its hard when you keep changing the question. As near as I can figure you get US Social Security which is deposited into a mexican bank account. They cannot garnish the Social Security payment, but once its deposited into the bank its becomes commingled funds and they can attach the bank account. You may be able to forestall that by stating the only money going into the account is from exempt sources.
