My microwave stopped working yesterday and has no power. I've changed the power fuse, which brings the power back to the unit, but as soon as I try to start the microwave again, the fuse blows. I have a Sharp Carousel R-1490. Any suggestions as to what might be blowing the fuse?

Unplug the microwave and replace the fuse. Plug something else in the outlet, if it works your microwave is shot. Could be a short in the microwave but it could also be many other things. I do not recommend that a home owner try to repair a microwave.

It sounds like it is your magnatron wich is usuley more then a new microwave and you can not buy this your slef I know the company I work for does not alow us to sell them to the public you would need a tec to order it and put it in so for the cost of that and to have the tec come out and then for labor you could buy two or three new microwaves
