Tools, or toys or games all add spice to a sex life. A husband and wife should have free discussion of what is good, what may be fun and more.
If you are not talking to her about things, you are losing the battle

Try asking her next time when having sex. Say sweetie how about I get you a vibrator. Ask her in a way that you feel it should be said. If you two love each other she shouldn't have a problem with it.
