I have a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee that will not start (some of the time). I have had it diagnosed and it is not the starter, battery or the Alternator. The VIC constantly indicate that the coolant sensor is bad. Will this prevent the car from starting?

Change this part out and you'll be fine. I have a 1994 as well and if everything is not just so, it won't start.

Describe the symptoms a little more fully: does the car crank at all or even click?

Tell me what the VIC is telling you, exactly.

A coolant sensor out or range will effect overall performance, however, I've never seen is prevent the engine from starting.

I had a similar problem with my 1993 4.0 liter Jeep Grand Cherokee. So many things can go wrong, mine was a bad coil it would sometimes start and again it would not, this occurred mostly when it was hot.

I have a 1993 jeep grand wagoneer with a 5.2l v-8 and my battery went dead a while when i put a new one in it will only start after the check engine comes on then off and then it will fire up. I tried the turn the key in drivers door and hatch and nothing changes. I just would like more info about the alarm system or could it be the pcm is going bad. It sometimes takes 15 minutes to start my jeep please help me?
