View Full Version : The right age?

I read this article lately about how the ideal age for a woman to have sex for the first time is from 18 to 21. Before it's too early and afterwards its 'too late': my first thought was that it's stupid.
I'm 21 and haven't met the right person for that, and I didn't use to have a problem with it. But lately, I've been feeling so... well not normal:confused: Cause I don't know anyone else who still hasn't been with a guy at my age. It's not like I'm 30, I know, and everyone's different, but honestly, sometimes I just feel like I should just accept when someone I hardly know asks me to 'go to his place'(... ). Just to get the burden off my shoulders.
But then again, my mum didn't sleep with a guy till she was 25 and she had no problems. Why should that be a problem for me or for anyone?

Honestly there's absolutely nothing wrong with keeping your virginity till YOU feel the time is right. You should feel proud of yourself , you're only a virgin once.

I am a 21 year old guy.
Whenever I meet a girl who is my age and is still a virgin, I am amazed. It just makes them THAT much more attractive to me that they're waiting for the right guy. There's nothing wrong with waiting, and kudos to you.

Reconsider your reading material resources. Your first thought on reading the article you cited speaks wonders to your own self-assurance.
It was a stupid thing to write, but it sells Cosmopolitans and Teen mags to the unsuspecting lemmings. Glad you're not one of them.

Please don't ever think of your virginity as burden. Enjoy who you are and cherish what you have. You have made it this far without wasting it. Please share this moment with someone who will treat it as special as it should be. There is no getting it back once it is gone. Keep the faith and be picky

Virginity is not a virtue, a perfection, that gets wasted. It is just the way we are born. Virginity is a cause of inexperience. Getting your virginity "taken away" is something that happens to most of us once. But like removal of tonsils, it's over. Then we do a whole lot of screwing, all without our virginity. Is that shameful? No, of course not, and neither is virginity.

The right age is when you find the right person for you. Not one moment before. If that's 40 then 40 is the right age.
Just because someone else decides you should be their sperm bank (or sperm donor) doesn't mean you should be.

I think that over 21 simply indicates that a woman may be too passive in going out and finding a man for a relationship... and a fear of being sexual. If you want to find a man, it is better to find him yourself than to wait for someone(prince charming-not!) to come to find you.
Virginity is nothing special except in patriarchal societies where women are considered nothing more than cattle or goats to be married off unpregnant.
Better to date and meet men while there are a lot of unmarried guys around to choose from! The older you get, the fewer single, decent men around.
You would benefit a lot from a life coach who could help you polish up your social skills for meeting men. Practice makes perfect and also dispels your case of nerves. Time to get going... time is a-wastin'. :)

I bet you are an overly religious man, n'est pas?
Virginity just means a woman is a dunce about whether a man is a good lover or not. :)

Purity is a good thing. A woman who goes to her marriage bed a virgin is pure. Free love is not the antithesis to pure. Religions value purity, but why? Why is the word bastard so 'bad'? Ownership. If a wife and child are the property of a man, she is virtuous and the child is not a bastard. Thanks be to God that humans were given the desire to have sex outside the institute of ownership, marriage.

What ever guy you decide to give it up for, (so to speak) will feel like a very special guy indeed.
