I have a friend who's son has been put on a medication that her insurance has since decided to take off the list of meds that will allow one that falls under the "co-pay" set where the patient only has to pay the $0-20 co-pay. Now the family has to pay $300-400 a month for this one med. Is there another souce out there to get medications besides direct from the company? They have insurance and are not eliable for the direct method because of having insurance. Any other ideas?

Yes there is a possibility of some help. There is the Partnership for Prescription Assistance: https://www.pparx.org/Intro.php

They can contact their insurance company and talk to someone in the pharmacy department. My insurance has done this before, and they told me of a drug that would be comparable that they covered. Then ask the doc about the particular one they are suggesting.

Walmart as well as Walgreens have a 3 to 4 dollar gerneric drugs, but only have this on a few hundred drugs. But this is not for name brank drugs.

You may also ask the druggest, often they will know of drug discount plans, that help give specific savings on many drugs
