And you cannot simply give up parental rights to avoid paying support for your children.

At some point you have to have known her, and at some point they wanted you in court. You back track that court order, and will find them. You can have paternity proved and get visitation if its your kid, but this should have been done. A consultation with an attorney is what you need now.

Paternity would have had to been proven in order for you to pay support in the first place. You would have either had to sign the birth certificate or submitted to a DNA test.

You cannot relinquish your parental rights to get out of paying child support. You can choose not to be a part of the child's life and basically sign away your rights to the upbringing of that child, but you will always have to pay child support.

Well at least in the bibical sense you did have to "know" her at some point.

But assuming you are not on the birth certificate, when she filed for child support, you could have objected and required a DNA test. But assuming you are the father and there is a court ordered child support order in place, yes you have to pay her. And in Georgia, I don't believe the court will even allow you to give up your rights to the child, but even if you do, that has nothing to do with money paymnet, "rights" is merely getting to see the child, having a say in the child's life. Obligations are payments to the child though the mother, or repayment to the state for welfare payments made ( GA is big on that) and payments for medical insurance and college costs.

GA is also esp bad about putting you in jail if you don't pay.
