I'm using Microsoft Outlook for email. When I receive an email with pictures included and print the message, the pictures do not print. I get a box with an "X" in it. I've tried the help files etc and am getting nowhere. How do I get them to print?
Thanks, Kay

kaychan, hi, are sure your printer is OK? Also, please let me know what type of file format the picture is by right-clicking on it, and scrolling down to properties... for example, whether it is .jpg, gif, and so forth. Thankx ;)

Right click on the picture, and save it to your desktop. The file you saved should be accessed by a program that allows printing. Open the file that you saved and print it.

I'm having the same problem as kaychan with one of my clients. An Outlook created email in HTML format has imbedded pictures which everyone can view on the screen. Some users can print it fine but one can't. I duplicated the problem with a test machine in my office. I can print the email and pictures fine from my machine, the test laptop can't and gets the box with the X for each picture. I'm using the same printer, setup the same on each machine. Can't find any Internet Explorer print options except printing the background. When selected the background prints but still no picture. I'm running Windows 2000 w/SP4, Outlook 2000, and Internet Explorer 6.0. Any suggestions?

I Saved the email and tried to print separately, but it would not print. I then copied the text and the pictures to Word, previewed it, but it still didn't print the pictures. My setup is Windows 2000, Office Pro 2000, cable modem, and IE 6.0. Any suggestions?

Check to make sure that the person trying to print the pictures is administrator of their own machine.
Control Panel > Users and Passwords, see if the username appears in the Administrators group.

Just install the latest patches and service packs for office 2000. It worked for me.

OK - so lets make this a little more complicated. Having the same issue but its not quiet as simple because I am trying to print email from a Citrix client that is running someone's email. The picture cannot be printed because I guess it's not interacting with the software that is normally responsible for printing the picture part.
It will print the text, but a third party program connects the printers to the Outlook (ran from a Citrix server) so it can print from the network printer anyway - and so far I am having trouble finding a way around this. I have already tried saving the file on a network drive and then printing it from there - it will not open in Adobe and it will not open in any other software that will make the whole email appear to be a picture.
It will open in word (but the picture still does not even show up in the opened file) It is being save as an HTML document - :) suggestions?

Same problem here. But it changes from PC to PC.
We have a signature that consists of 4 JPGs which I inserted in outlook signature file and then made them all hyperlinks to appropriate locations.
Our GM prints all his emails out and files them, believe it or not, and now when he prints them out the signatures do not show up as anything other then 4 boxes with X's in them.
I have been trying from different machines that have outlook 2003 on them from different users who all have the same type of signature and some of them print and some give me the X's
This is very frustrating any ideas? Again all of the graphics are JPGs
