Hi dear

I live in Cherokee county, GA almost my experience in laws is zero.

I sued man and his wife small claim , for flooring work I did for them ,and I did not get paid , the court told me the defendant must answer in about 40 days but now the time passed , I called the court back , they said you need to request default judgement . My question is: how can I request default judgement, and how I do it? Do I have to file special form? or can I write on any blank paper and mail it to the court address? And what can I say in letter? Can you write for me sample

Thanks very much

Hello habib:

Go see the clerk. They might have a form you fill out, or you just write a letter. Just request a default judgment. There are no special words to use. The judge will figure it out. If you send a letter, send a copy to the defendant. Send your letters certified, return receipt requested.
