My father recently passed away, leaving behind a Roth IRA account and a bank account with a total value of several hundred thousand dollars. My brother and I are the sole heirs. How long should the disbursement of the inheritance take if there are no liens, creditors, etc. or real estate to be sold?

Is the Roth IRA passing by beneficiary or Will?

Depends on how quickly your Attorney can get the estate probated, get an Executor appointed, get financial records in order, pay the estate taxes.

I've seen it done within a month; I've seen potential heirs tie things up for a long time.

Your Attorney should be able to tell you how quickly things move in your area.
