I live in ky and work in va... when I filed my state taxes va only since me a little of the money that I had paid in and then I own ky more than 1300.00 more than I'm getting back for va. I thought that I was to get all from va and then pay ky that and maybe a little more. I'm I right? Please help anyone

You need to file in both states. You will PAY VA taxes, then claim a credit fr the VA taxes on your KY state tax return.

I do not know the respective state's tax rates, so I cannot tell you whether you will owe KY more than what was withheld for VA.
