I have a problem.. Im applying for a home loan and this is holding me up. I have something on my credit report that should have been included in my bankruptcy 2 years ago. On my report it says the accout is open and there is a balance. I have called and spoke to 3 different people and they all say by law they can't send or fax me a letter stating this account has been charged off and included in my bankruptcy!! Is this true? I really need a letter stating this account has been included so I can show it to my lender.

I don't think this is going to be your main problem when applying for a home loan if you declared bankruptcy only 2 years ago.

Can't you go to their offices and get these documents if they refuse to fax?

The bankruptcy is not the problem after 2 years it gets discharged... the creditor is hurting my credit score which my mortgage lender said once the letter is sent I can send letter to the credit bureau and my score will go up enough to get the loan I need.

Their office isn't located in the state I'm in.

What about asking them to send the letter by courrier like UPS or something and give them a credit card to charge or something like that.

Just an idea, you'd at least get it quick and have a tracking number if something goes wrong.

They won't... they said by law they can't send that kind of info through mail or fax.. which is BS cause other creditors have sent me faxexs... who else can I contact to get a letter?
