Hi, I am community college student and my financial aid is about to run out. I claimed a child the last couple of years since I was the only parent working. My ex and I separated and I can't claim her on this years FAFSA so I doubt I will get a pell grant ot anything. I can still get loans but I am scared that I will not be able to get loans large enough to cover the school I want to transfer to, I plan on studying Arabic at a liberal arts school in Vermont. I might want to study abroad as well. I am 28 years old and white and male so I am afraid I won't qualify for any scholarships. My GPA is quite good but I am starting to freak out a bit now because I will have my associates soon and am terrified that I won't be able to continue my education. Any advice anyone can offer would be great. Thanks!

Have you been invited to join your school's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa? It's an international honors society that passes out millions of dollars of scholarships to some of the best schools in the country/world.

I would check into that if I were you. I am in PTK and already have full ride scholarships to 3 universities should I decide to go back after graduation from my community college this spring.

Good luck to you.
