Hello,

I have a carrier furnace that works well once started for anywhere from 1 day to a week at a time and then seems to fail to restart.

Once the power to it is reset (flipping the breaker off and back on) it seems to start fine and keeps on going stopping at the temp that is set and then restarting with no issue.
It seems to fail (no consistently) when it is off for longer periods (at night or during the day) when the temperature is set to a lower than usual by the time zones on the thermostat.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Is there a circuit board flashing or blinking when the furnace shuts down and before you reset it. With out the model number I cannot tell. If it is blinking how many blinks does it make?

Thank you for your help!

There are no lights that I could see.

The model is 58RAV horizontal.

Did you ever find the answer to your furnace problem? I am having exactly the same issue with an older Tempstar furnace.

I had a furnace do the similar thing to me last year.. Ended up being a circuit board on the furnace that needed to be replaced. Not sure what your furnace is but our furnace would randomly quit working until we reset it with a breaker like you say you are doing.. So hopefully this will help you in some way.
