I am 46 years of age with 2 sons aged 22 and 20 years of age. I have been with my new partner for 17 months and fallen pregnant twice but lost them on both occasions.

I had my last period 4th January, finished the 7th. I have very tender breasts(I never get those unless pregnant) frequent bathroom visits, nausea and mood swings.

I started to have what I thought was implantation bleeding 2 days ago but it has gone very red.
I still feel pregnant, and I did have periods for the first 5months of my younger sons pregnancy.

Could I still be pregnant? I am not due on till Monday 4th February and my periods are very regular despite my age!

Any answers would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Both options are possible. I've read that menopause mimics pregnancy symptoms and women I know who've gone through it have confirmed that as well.

Its hard to wait, so you might want to try taking an HPT. If you're this close to your usual period, it may give you an accurate result at this point, it may not. Once you're a few days late, try another HPT. If that is negative, I'd suggest calling your doctor for a hormone check.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

The thing is, I had a cervical cancer scare late last year and the colposcopy I had said I way off the menopause! Normally that time of month I lose clots badly but there is nothing that bears any resemblance to that this time. BUT, I have bought a HPT today and will check it out as soon bleeding stops. Thanks again.
