Hi,

I am a single and in WA, USA working for my Client. I basically work in India. I came to US during the end of June 2007. I am on L1 visa and have my SSN.

My employer has already withheld the federal income tax, social security tax, Medicare tax in my monthly salary.

I have been told by my peers that since my stay in US was for approx 180 days, I might be getting some refund.

Kindly let me know how to file the returns and get the refund back.
Thanks in advance,
Anuj

Anuj:

Whether you get a refund on the federal income taxes depends on how much was earned and how much was withheld.

The Social Security and Medicare taxes will NOT be refunded. Sorry; I know that is NOT fair, but there is very little about the U.S. tax system that is fair!
