Churches are a great idea too. When my grandma used to work at a church, she said they had a discretionary fund which was used to help people like you. Churches and other religious organizations can often help you find the right charity if they can't help you. Also, see if the health department can refer you to a free clinic in your area.

There are also places like Wal*mart that have $10 frames and $20 lenses.
