Hello,

I am new to this thing, but seems like there are good responses...

I have a 13week old shih tzu boy who is 2.8lbs. He fell of a 10ft high loft onto the stairs. He cried for 2seconds and I picked him up immediately and exercised his legs some - he did not cry or make any noise. I took him for a walk and tried to make him do some exercisses - walking, running, climbing stairs...

He seems to do all of the above fine, but does not run as fast... he has been sleeping 20-30mins after he fell... he responds when I call him... walks to his food and such...

Is he OK? What could go wrong?

Bruno, check his gums. If they appear grayish white that is a sign of internal bleeding. If they appear their normal color, then you can rule that issue out. If he is walking fine, no limping, doesn't appear to be in pain when you touch him on the area which he fell on, wakes up when you call him, just keep a close eye on him for the next day. If he doesn't wake up easily, if the gum color changes as I have described, or if he starts having problems moving around in any way, he will need medical assistance. That is when you should call your vet's office and tell them what happened and what is currently occurring.

I hope he is okay. If so, that is one little lucky guy. Please keep a close eye on him and make sure you keep him away from dangerous areas or objects he can swallow.
