I had a verbal lease with my best friend for 2 years. I gave him a 1995 dodge intrepid and a bedroom set for agreeing to the lease. We also took out a personal loan for 1500, that was split and he has not paid anything. When the final payment is made it will be a total of 2,800 dollars. He stayed less than a year and only gave me less than a weeks notice before he moved out taking the Intrepid and bedroom set. Can I take him to small claims court for the remainder of the lease and his half of the personal loan?

A lot will depend on your state, while verbal contracts are valid, there are some rules in real estate, so it is posible that because it is a 2 year lease, not a one year lease it has to be in writing to be binding, but that depends on your state law. All you can do is try and sue him,
