The starter cord came out after a couple pulls. It used to work great. Since the cord not broke there is sufficient cord to use the same cord.

I have it all apart and see the spring tightens when I turn it toward the front of the machine. Where do I install the cord and how exactly does it get wound?

Thanks

Find a small hole in the pulley, or wheel that the cord goes around, wind the spring until tight, then back it off about 1 to 1 1/2 turns and feed the cord through the hole at this time. Tie a knot in the other end to keep it from going all the way into the recoil starter. Slowly allow the cord to retract into the starter. I would suggest replacing the cord for two reasons: 1. short cords can lead to a sore arm from the sudden stop.
2. the cord is probably worn and weak.
This should help.

The wheel that the cord is attached is not accessible unless the casing is taken off. Can anyone give us a diagram as to exactly how to take the top off to get to the starter wheel.
