:confused: How Do you solve this?

x + 2y = 7
3x - 2y = -3

x + 2y = 7
3x - 2y = -3

x= 7 - 2y
3(7- 2y) - 2y = -3
21 - 6y - 2y = -3
21 -8y = -3
24 = 8y
y = 3

x + 2(3) = 7
x + 6 = 7
x = 1

The above is substitution, not elimination. Elimination is much easier. The way to do elimination is to add your 2 equations together.

x + 2y = 7
3x - 2y = -3 +
------------------
4x = 4

therefore x = 1

plug this value of x into one of the top equations to find y.

And it doesn't have two answers. The answer is a point. Points have an x and a y coordinate. That isn't two "answers." The whole point is one answer.
