I need help trying to figure out what to do. I want to insert a shower in my basement. I have a drain already in the floor for a shower. Its 2inches and sticks out of the floor about 3 to 4 inches. I had a plummer come out and tell me that he would cut this down and cut into the concrete to make the shower install fit. Can someone explain what he means so I can possibly do this myself? As the plummer states the drain is already vented? What do I do?
Thank you,

Lowe's and Home Depot sell different sized shower pans. If one will not fit because of the placement of the drain, I would assume the plumber found the drain too close to the wall to connect to a standard sized pan? I don't know for sure as your discription is a little vague. If it is in the wrong location, you could cut the concrete and extend or shorten the drain.
You can also build the pan from scratch. This involves some labor but is overall pretty easy to do. Here is a link to Hank. He sells a supurb video on how to.
