Growing up I was always a strawberry blonde---more strawberry than blonde. Now that I'm pushing 50, it's become mousy and, of course, I'm seeing more grey. My hair stylist keeps trying to give me highlights (blonde, red) to replicate my youthful color, but he can't seem to get the red right--I always seem to come home with orange stripes. So, my two questions are: Can I do anything to help fade the dark orange stripes I brought home today? And should I just abandon my quest to get a natural-looking strawberry blonde back in my hair? I should say that, from 10 feet away, my color looks great (and great with my complexion). It's just on close-up that the stripes are so obvious.
