Cdrom drive icon not showing in My Computer

You need to go to the START button first. Then go to My Computer. Locate the icon for the cdrom drive, right click and "create shortcut" this to the desktop.

Are you not seeing it windows expolorer? If so, this happened to me once and called tech supportto resolve

I had to disconnect all wires from PC (power, keybaord, mouse, speakers, anything physiacally connected to the computer.

Then press and hold in the power button for 20 secs
Reconnect everything and turn back on and see if cd reappears in explorer

The reason for all this was to realease any static electricity that may have been in PC itself. It worked for me, hope it works if this is your situation

Hopefully, if you installed the cd drive, you prevented any static buildup.
