I am 22 years old, 5'2'' and 123lbs.
I don't think I'm fat but I would like to loose 10lbs before my trip. I want to get back to my pre-baby weight. I just want to feel better about myself. I have a low self-esteem.
I started going to the gym and I intend to do so every day for one hour.
Do you think this will work?
What exercises or nutrition can I do to loose weight fast?
Thank you!:)

stressed122,
The only way to lose weight is to eat less and move more. I don't mean that in a rude way, it's just all these tapes and adverts out there about losing weight! Save yourself a small fortune and simply eat less and start walking or running every day.

Going to the gym is an excellent way to help you achieve your goal. In order to lose weight you need to work out 30-60 minutes, to get back in shape. Go for any form of resistance/weight training, aerobics, biking, even walking will help you. It takes exercise and proper nutrition to lose weight, and Smaller portions of healthy natural foods that are Low fat, low sugar, low sodium. # 1on my list; cutting out presweetend drinks like soda or anything with high fructose corn syrup, cutting out fast foods, fried foods is # 2, on things to do first. And really watching snacks like chips or cakes because of the sodium and sugar content is #3. When I say smaller portions I mean like 3 oz. of lean meats like skinless chicken, turkey breast, loin type meats and fish, broiled or baked. Veggies, fruits, snack on nuts and seeds but in small quantities and switching from white flour products to whole grain like wheat breads, cereals, pasta and rice. Don't forget you can get great protein from beans, lentils, tofu with little to no fat. Reading nutritional labels will go a long way to help you know what's in the foods your eating and how much your should have, stick to what the one portion size is. Drink lots of water, especially when your working out. Breakfast is really important, eat some whole grain cereal, oatmeal, fruits, yogurt, but eat, it starts your day and makes your metabolism work for you. Your metabolism increase every time you eat, smaller meals are the key. Dairy is also a great help when your trying to drop a few pounds, people who eat 2-3 servings a day of low fat or skim dairy tend to lose more weight and body fat. Low fat/skim milk cheese and yogurt increase fat breakdown in fat cells, The more calcium you store in fat cells the more calories your body will burn, Calcium seems to increase the bodys core temperature which causes it to burn more calories. You can do this with a little work and persistence.

It is a start, but first 10 lbs is not much weight at all, and often you lose a lot to start, but not always where you want it.
Weight loss is something that takes time, so a little as it comes off.
