OK Guys, I'm stuck !
Yep you heard right!

OK here's my problem.
I have a Compaq Proliant ML370, that is running my main ERP system.
I need to upgrade the Database HDD's as I'm getting short on space.

As can be seen in the picture there are 6 HDD in the left bank, these are setup as hardware mirrored pairs, so 3 drives.
I need to be able to physically identify which pair is which, so I can replace the correct pair.

Any ideas ?

The drives are named accordingly? I.e. HD1, HD1MIR, HD2, HD2MIR,.

LOL I see where you are coming from, but...

If they where physically labeled this wouldn't be an issue, they're NOT :(
My server is pretty much how the picture above looks, except I have an extra 2 HDD drive cage just under the CD ROM.

Any other ideas ?

Ps forgot to mention I'm running Windoze 2000 Advanced server on it. * Slaps forehead *

Long shot here but... your RAID software doesn't have a utility that can help with this?

Possibly, but as the Smart Start CD was used to setup hardware RAID I can't check this as I need to boot to the CD.
This is the production server :(:(

Looks like some 3am work in store for you. :D

The only thing I can suggest is to look at the cables and see what channels they go to. Doesn't necessarily mean those are the pairs, but it might help give a clue.

Found it!!
Using a combination of Windoze computer management and HP's Array config tool, I've managed to ident the drives I need to pull.

Thanks for the ideas guys.

Now I'll label them properly ;)
