I see that tearm thrown around a lot, is it some kind of insult?

Are you referring to an online troll? If so, it is the term used for people who like to go into chatrooms or forums and instigate trouble. :)

I thought raggablue was referring to a scary childhood story I remember being called "Three Billy Goats Bluff" about three goats crossing a bridge but a big monster like entity they called a troll wouldn't let them pass. I don't remember the story line but just remmeber as a little girl it scared me and I sure didn't pass it on to my kiddos. LOL
