Hello,

I am 39 years old and have endured 5 pregnancies! The question I am about to ask is quite surprising for I should be a professional at knowing about pregnancies!
My question is.. Is it possible to get pregnant the day your menstrual cycle is over? I have read every response to this question but I am still not satisfied. I need a professional to answer this for me/perferrably someone in the medical field. Is this possible?

Im not a professional, but I got pregnant the day after I stopped my period, and I had taken the morning after pill just in case and even that didn't work! I guess she was really meant to be! I hope this helped you.

It is rare, but it does happen. Typically once we have our period the ovum (egg) which is no longer viable for fertilization 24-36 hours after ovulation basically dissolves and is reabsorbed into our bodies. Since implantation does not occur, and pregnancy hormones are not released, we begin to shed the uterine lining, thus menstruation (period).

However, some women do not have a regular cycle and ovulate at different times of the month.

Again, it is rare, but it has happened.
