I have a whirlpool gas dryer and I also have a roommate who's a moron. So moron roommate decides to overload said dryer with wet towels and now the dryer won't start. He said that when he first turned it on it made a humming noise (my guess is trying to turn the heavy load) and then said it stopped. I checked the house breakers and it is not that. The light in the dryer still works. My guess is it might have an internal fuse that blew. Any ideas?? Any one know where the fuse is?? Maybe a belt issue?? Thanks for any help.

Also: For Sale: One roommate. Brain broken, mechanically declined, best offer

I vote for belt.

I have a dryer which doesn't like being turned backwards by hand. The belt will come off. How many times has it done that in 40 years. Once. Fix: Don't turn the drum by hand.
