I have just had a garnishment put on my wages for 25% out of each paycheck. I will not have enough money to pay what they're taking and pay my bills to live struggling. This is an unemployment garnishment. I have been making payments when I can. They were already taking my income tax every year to pay this as well as me sending payments. I missed oct and nov. payment. I sent a dec. payment but the garnishment went out a couple of days before they received that payment. What can I do to stop the garnishment. Can I file a consumer proposal or is that vaild in Missouri. NEED HELP PLEASE!! :(

The creditor that filed the garnishment is probably within its rights to do so. You will have to contact your creditor and request a release from the garnishment; the creditor will have to agree to your request to resume payments. Tell the creditor that without the release, you will have to seek bankruptcy relief because the garnishment has left you unable to pay your bills as they come due.
