Dear someone,
My husband and I are married but currently live and work in two different states -- I in Kentucky and he in Illinois. Will this impact our federal filing and, if so, how? And how do we file state taxes? Also, how do I go about finding a tax professional with expertise that can cover both states and determine what is best for us? I make significantly more money and have itemized deductions for my home and this year, medical expenses. He on the other hand has deductions for his own business of sorts. Does someone have some helpful advice for how we should file and also on finding someone locally that is competent from an all-encompassing tax purpose?
Thanks so much!
