The start up cost for a home care agency can vary. It can cost $500- $150,000 and over depending on several factors. Franchises are expensive and usually don't deliver and you are limited. If you are a home based agency as opposed to an actual office, you save on rental space and utility cost. Payroll is always the biggest expenses. Another factor is the scope of services; non medical home care agencies usually have a lower start up cost than a medical home care agency. However both medical and non medical has great income potential if you are well established. Its always best to "start small and grow big"
Obtaining new clients require marketing, advertising, networking and relationship building with referral sources in your area such as discharge planners, social workers, senior centers and others.
