Well, it seems I am not alone in my boat. I am 2 weeks late and negative pregnancy tests. I will put it out there, and let me just say I am not happy about what I am going to say. I have had 2 abortions in my lifetime. I was just selfish and not ready, and could kick myself in the now. I am engaged to a wonderful man, and we were excited to have a missed period. After numerous HPTs I have given up hope. I have been tired, sick, nauseated. I went to the lab today to get a blood test and will know the results by this afternoon or tomorrow morning. It really is just nice to know this isn't abnormal. I have had no cramping. I just wonder if this is all a result of having 2 abortions. Any medical advice? I know they said it lessens your chance in the future with each abortion. Thanks!

Well there is some horomone in my blood test apparently?? Whatever that means... but not enough for a positive result... the dr is sending me for another blood test Friday to see if the horomone will jump since if I am pregnant the horomone level will double by the day.

Good luck to you. Seems you may be pregnant. It is good that you can learn from mistakes. Hope you are in a stable committed relationship (marriage?) to raise a child in.

Abortions can certainly have a negative effect on the mind and body. However, an early term (first few weeks) abortion has few or no risks to future fertility. The later in your pregnancy they were performed, the higher chance of decreased fertility and other damage to your body.

Its possible that since you are only 2 weeks late, your blood work is not showing high numbers (this can happen with early pregnancy). Sounds like your doctor just wants to see if the numbers go up in a week to show normal progression.

Thank you! They were both before the 8th week. I guess I will just be going for more blood work Friday... either way... I just want to know. So they can get my period started again so we can try again... or if I am, great! I think my boyfriend is more stressed than I am. He really wants this baby... he was more excited than I was... and I was pretty ecstatic!

Well I'm back... I have had blood taken 4 times... the first test was negative... the next two were positive with the second being higher in numbers... and the 4th I just went this morning... I had an ultrasound on Monday that showed a gestational sac... weird that I haven't had my period since nov 15th... my pregnancy doesn't line up with my LMP or when I should have had it in dec... but hey I'm not complaining as long as I have a healthy pregnancy... my boyfriend is ecstatic! As am I.. thank you for all your help and support! This just goes to show if you are trying... and you miss a period with a negative pregnancy test... u can still be pregnant.. :)

OK question... my parents are going out of town and I am to take care of their cat... someone told me not to change the litter now that I'm pregnant... I googled cat litter and pregnancy and you know that got me pretty much nowhere as one said its OK just wear gloves and mask and the other said don't do it at all... any suggestions?

Ideally you shouldn't do it at all, exposure to it poses serious health risks to your unborn baby. If you MUST, definitely wear a mask and gloves and be sure to wash up well,/dont get it on your clothes, etc. BUT, I just don't know that its even worth it. Isn't there someone else that can change the littler for you?
