Hi all..
I have an oil painting maybe for 40 years and until now the colors is still on it I don't know what's its name and I don't know if is it original or not..
Can you give informations about it and how can I know if its original.. and if it is could I know how much is it.. pleaze help meee

I would recommend an appraisal done by an art dealer or a museum.

I am not sure of the painting,but it does look a bit like some works of Renoir ,

It is a copy of Renoirs work as I had guessed.

What you have must be a reproduction done in oil.

Thanks for your response.. and post as much as you like :) so its not original? Maybe he have done 2 orignals? because its very old and the colorz is still on it>

As far as we know, there's only one (probably) Renoir of this subject. Someone has faithfully copied Renoir's style and a particular painting.

An art appraiser should be able to tell you more, plus the painting's worth, if any.

Since it's a good copy, probably not--but I'm not an art expert. It might be worth thousands (especially if the painter established himself as a professional artist). Please remember me if it's worth thousands.

Another kind of person who might be able to help with an appraisal would be an auctioneer. Especially one who might deal a lot with works of art.

Odds are it is probably a copy, but I am very suspicious to think you may have something a bit more valuable. If you look at the subtle differences, you will notice that the view in the chair is different, and the background details are not as finished in your work. The pose seems slightly different, and the centering is not the same in both pictures. Could it be that you might have a working picture that was not exactly the desired finished project?
I don't know, but am wondering why someone would copy, and have those differences? Of course, it could be that it s just a matter of framing, faded paint, and different computer images?

Do you have any background knowledge of where your painting came from? How it was acquired? Anything of interest about it?

Thanks 4 replying... all I know as my father told that a friend of him gave it to my father before 30-40 years.. and as ic its frame is old.. thats all what I know about it..

I think its colors is little pail because before 4-5 years the house was full of water so the paint was full of mold and we cleaned it and that why its like this.. thats all:)
