You have to get their number from them and put it in your phone. It will still show Private when they call though. Caller ID is something that I didn't grow up with; who was on the phone was always a guess and a surprise. We had to find a pay phone too and pull over to make a call. Cell phones are great.

Basically you can not find out, you can answer and ask them their number,
I just refuse to answer or block any calls that do not show the caller.

If it is something illegal or harassment, you can file a police report and the police can find the number. But remember if they are using a prepaid cell phone there is no way to trace who it belongs to, just a number.

When CallerID was first being offered, privacy advocates hamstrung it by allowing people to opt out it by leaving their numbers private. The only way you can find out what a private number is or who it belongs to is to answer the phone and ask.

I have a similar problem with this annoying private call... and I agree if I know who's calling me I would have put their number on my phone.. and as for asking them their number, why else they put their number private if they want you to know their number.. that's why they are private so you will now know them and so to continue to annoy you..

Being annoyed by what is, is a choice. Choose acceptance.
