I am wondering if I can take my packages of birth control back to back to delay my period when I am on a tri-phasic rather than mono-phasic pill.

I am visiting my boyfriend in a 2 weeks and that will be the week I would be off the pill and having my period I would like to delay this.

I can't see this changing the effectiveness of the pill since I would just be taking them a week earlier but are there any consequences I am not aware of?

Is it even possible to do this with tri-phasial pills (I know it is with mono-phasial). So any input would be great.

That's fine. But you will need to have your period right after that... throw away the pack of pills that you are in the middle of and start with a new pack.

So is there a particular reason I can't just start the new pack when I finish the one I am on. I mean right away without the week break.

I have received conflicting reports about how doing this may change the effectiveness of the pill birth control wise.

So any added information you may have about this would be fantastic. I don't really want to mess around with it and risk getting pregnant (well aware it is always a risk just don't want to increase it).

I don't see why it would alter the effectiveness if I start th new pack a week earlier but not finishing the old pack makes me wary.

Okay, this is what I mean...

Instead of taking the placebo pills (the ones you take for your period), begin the new pack. Take it until your holiday is over so that you can have a period when you get home. Then, after your period, start a whole new pack. Yes, you will throw away about 3 weeks worth of pills, but if you don't want your period when you are on holiday, this is how you have to do it.
